Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit valvalval.ch or contact me. I process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / nLPD) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Valentine Boillat – valvalval, Port, Switzerland. Email: hello@valvalval.ch. Full operator details are listed in the Legal notice.

For any question about your data or to exercise your rights, simply write to the email address above.

2. Data collected when you visit the website

When you browse this website, the server automatically records certain technical information sent by your browser (server log files), such as:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • pages and files requested
  • referring website
  • browser type and version, operating system

This data is used only to deliver the website, ensure its security and stability, and fix technical problems. It is not combined with other data and is not used to identify you personally. Log files are deleted after 2 months by the hosting provider.

Hosting: this website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland. The provider processes the data mentioned above on my behalf and only according to my instructions.

3. Contacting me by email

If you contact me by email (e.g. via the Contact page), I process the data you send me – typically your name, email address, company and the content of your message – in order to answer your request and, if relevant, to prepare a quote or a collaboration.

I keep this correspondence as long as needed to handle your request and for any follow-up project. Data linked to a contract or invoicing is kept for the period required by Swiss law (generally 10 years).

My email is provided by Infomaniak, Switzerland.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device. This website uses three kinds of cookies:

  • Technically necessary cookies, set by WordPress and by the cookie banner. They are needed for the website to work and to remember your cookie choice. They do not identify you.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, set only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
  • Third-party cookies from embedded videos (see section 5).

Google Analytics. To understand how the website is used and improve it, I use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC (USA). With your consent, Google Analytics collects pseudonymised information about your visit, such as the pages viewed, time spent on the site, device and browser type and approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process this data in the United States, on the basis of the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified. Analytics data is kept for 2 months.

Your choice. Google Analytics is only activated if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can refuse them, and you can change your choice at any time by reopening the cookie settings available on every page of this website. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

5. Fonts and external content

Images, self-hosted videos and the licensed typeface used on this website are stored on my own server, so loading them does not transmit any data to third parties. In addition, this website uses Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC (USA).

When you open a page, your browser loads the fonts directly from Google’s servers. In doing so, your IP address and technical information about your browser are transmitted to Google. Google may process this data in the United States. Data transfers to Google LLC take place on the basis of the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified.

For more information, see Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Embedded videos. Some pages may include videos embedded from third-party platforms such as YouTube (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, USA) or Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., USA). When a page with such a video is loaded or the video is played, your browser connects to the platform’s servers. Your IP address, technical information about your browser and the page you are visiting are transmitted to the platform, which may set cookies and process this data in the United States. If you are logged into your account on that platform, it may link your visit to your profile.

Where possible, I use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), in which YouTube does not store cookies until you start the video. Transfers to the United States take place on the basis of the Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the basis of standard contractual clauses. For more information, see the privacy policies of YouTube/Google and Vimeo.

The website contains simple links to my LinkedIn and Instagram profiles. These are ordinary links, not embedded plugins: no data is sent to these platforms while you are on valvalval.ch. If you click on a link, you leave my website and the privacy policy of the respective platform applies (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company; Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. for Instagram).

7. Disclosure and transfer abroad

I do not sell or rent your personal data. It is shared only with the service providers mentioned above (hosting, email, Google Analytics, Google Fonts and embedded video platforms) to the extent necessary, or when required by law.

If a provider processes data outside Switzerland, this takes place only in countries offering an adequate level of data protection (such as EU/EEA countries) or on the basis of appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Transfers to the United States take place on the basis of the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified.

8. Data security

I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

9. Your rights

Within the limits of applicable law, you have the right to:

  • request information about the personal data I hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • request the deletion of your data
  • object to certain processing or withdraw your consent
  • receive your data in a common electronic format (data portability)

To exercise these rights, write to hello@valvalval.ch. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority – in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch).

10. Changes to this policy

I may update this privacy policy at any time, for example if the website changes or the law evolves. The version published on this page applies.
